About a month ago I bought something that I had longed for a long time - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly blu ray! Having said that, I must warn you that this is another attempt to make you watch this magnificent movie. Without further ado, here are five reasons to watch The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
1. Music
You won't find better movie music from any other movie. Ennio Morricone, the composer, is responsible for this masterpiece and he didn't even win any awards for it. That is a shame. Anyway, the music of this movie is so good that if it weren't for the music, I wouldn't appreciate this movie nearly as much as I do now. Here's another example of the great music of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
2. Clint Eastwood
Thirty-something Clint Eastwood was quite a handsome sight ;) He plays a mysterious character who goes by the name Blondie. He's "the good" one even though his character kills people just like the other ones do. I guess he just happens to be the most good of those three. By the way, pay attention to Blondie's speech in this movie, doesn't he sound like Fat Tony in The Simpsons?
3. It's on the 1001 Movies you must see before you die -list
According to the book, this movie was made when western movies weren't "cool" anymore. However, once it was published, it made western movies "cool" again and started a whole new genre, spaghettiwestern. (The reason why spaghettiwestern is called spaghettiwestern is because a) the director of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Sergio Leone, was Italian and b) there is a lot of bloodshed in the movie which kind of resembles spaghettisauce according to the book.)
4. It's special (and a classic!)
If I had to describe this movie with only one word, I would say that it is special. I have never seen another movie like this. If you have seen the movie, you should know what I mean. Because it was something special, it wasn't forgotten and now you could say that it is a classic.
5. Because I said so
You heard me! :D I do realize that there are people who don't like this movie. But if you haven't already seen this movie, I would advise you to at least give it a chance. Please :) And if you don't like it, you can always blame me.
